Stop the bleeding
2 fixes that stopped a churn crisis
A month ago, my newsletter was hemorrhaging subscribers.
Every time I sent an email, I’d lose 5-7 people.
At first, I didn’t sweat it.
But then I realized—this was every. single. email.
Here’s why:
People signed up expecting a Milk Road clone.
Short-form crypto news, humor, memes.
Then I pivoted.
Now, the newsletter is laser-focused on how Web3 founders can grow their startups.
Totally different target market. So, yeah, fair enough—people bailed.
But I wasn’t about to let the newsletter die.
I implemented two simple fixes that reversed the tide.
1. Auto-Plugging on Twitter
I’m already active on Twitter, so I automated this:
Whenever a tweet gets 10+ likes, Typefully sends a follow-up tweet:

Auto-Plug
I’ve been testing different variations of this message to see what performs best.
Simple. Effective. And yes—self-promotional.
2. Drippi: Auto-DMs for Followers
With Drippi, anyone who follows me gets an auto-DM:

Drippi Auto-DM
Some people call this annoying.
I call it, making sure people actually know my newsletter exists.
Results?
I’m gaining ~5 new subscribers a day.
It’s not groundbreaking… but here’s the deal:
The bleed has slowed.
New subscribers now outpace the churn.
The Real Lesson
If you won’t advocate for your project, no one will.
People don’t know what you’re building.
They’re busy.
So you have to remind them. Constantly.
Alex Hormozi talks about this all the time:
“People aren’t ignoring your offer because they hate it.
They’re ignoring it because they don’t know it exists.”
So, yeah, I plug my newsletter a lot.
And if that annoys people?
Cool. They can unfollow.
The people who care will stick around—and that’s who I’m here for.
Keep building,
Jax
